LLMs and generative models automate part of the engineering and documentation workload. In practice, their value usually appears as faster draft creation, quicker knowledge retrieval, better explanations, and support for selected early design and concept workflows.
How it works
The language model generates text, code, or commands for a CAD system. To keep the result aligned with company rules and standards, the system automatically retrieves the right knowledge-base fragments and passes them to the model together with the user request.
Weaknesses
The model can state an incorrect fact or number with confidence, and the same prompt may produce a different result on another run. Complex CAD assemblies with many parts are still unreliable.
